KEF Q Series Gets META Technology Upgrade

KEF has just revamped its popular Q Series speaker lineup for 2024, introducing Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT™), which has already made waves in their high-end ranges. This is the first significant update to the Q Series since 2017, making it a major release for audiophiles and home theater enthusiasts looking for high-quality sound without breaking the bank.

What’s New in KEF’s Q Series Meta?

The star of the show is KEF’s Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT™), a solution designed to absorb unwanted sound waves generated behind the tweeter. This results, as promised by the brand, in reduced distortion and a more natural, detailed listening experience. This technology, previously reserved for KEF’s more expensive models, is now being introduced in the Q Series to deliver superior sound quality at a more affordable price point.

Uni-Q Driver and 3-Way Design for Superior Sound

The 12th-generation Uni-Q driver, a signature KEF feature, has also been upgraded. This design positions the tweeter in the center of the midrange cone, acting as a single point source for sound. The result? A wider and more consistent soundstage, regardless of where you’re sitting in the room. Higher-end models in the lineup now feature a 3-way speaker design, further enhancing frequency separation for even more refined sound performance.

Sleek New Design and Finish Options

Aesthetically, KEF stays true to its minimalist approach, offering the Q Series Meta in Satin Black, Satin White, and Walnut finishes. Each speaker comes with magnetic grilles for a clean, seamless look.
