Bowers & Wilkins introduced the Px8 S2 McLaren Edition, a new special version of the brand’s flagship wireless headphones, launched to mark a decade of collaboration with McLaren Automotive and the McLaren Formula 1 Team.

Designed in partnership with McLaren, this edition adopts the manufacturer’s signature Papaya accents contrasted with Anthracite Grey, complemented by subtle Speedmark detailing on the headband and earcups. Premium materials, including pressure-cast aluminum arms, diamond-cut metal highlights and Nappa leather trims, reinforce the model’s positioning as the most design-driven variant in the Px8 S2 line.

At the engineering level, the Px8 S2 McLaren Edition incorporates Bowers & Wilkins’ upgraded 40 mm Carbon Cone drivers, mounted with a slight inward angle to improve stereo imaging and to reduce distortion. Combined with the brand’s enhanced noise-cancellation platform, the result promises higher resolution, greater openness and improved transparency when compared with previous Px8 iterations.
Wireless performance is supported by Qualcomm aptX Adaptive 24/96 and aptX Lossless, powered by Bowers & Wilkins’ in-house DSP. The model integrates fully with the Bowers & Wilkins Music App, offering a five-band EQ, transparency control, battery monitoring and customization options for the Quick Action button. Battery life remains consistent with the S2 platform, rated at up to 30 hours, with a 15-minute fast charge providing up to seven additional hours of playback.

This launch follows the release of the Pi8 McLaren Edition earlier this year and extends the collaboration between the two companies, which began in 2015 with the development of high-performance audio systems for McLaren supercars. The partnership was recently expanded to formally recognize Bowers & Wilkins as the official audio partner for both McLaren Automotive and the McLaren Formula 1 Team.

The Px8 S2 McLaren Edition becomes the third McLaren-branded model in the Px8 family, joining, in spirit, other limited editions such as the Px8 007 Edition previously analysed here on StachesViews, and continues Bowers & Wilkins’ strategy of combining industrial design with its flagship wireless audio platform.

The headphones are available from 19 November 2025 through the Bowers & Wilkins website and selected retailers at a recommended price of €829.
