South Korean manufacturer Aurender, long a fixture in the high-end digital audio scene, celebrates its 15th anniversary with a double release that looks both backward and forward. The A1 15th Anniversary Edition and the N50 may serve different purposes, but both reflect the same DNA: precision engineering driven by musical obsession.
A1 15th Anniversary: digital structure, analogue soul
Strictly limited to just 300 units worldwide, the A1 15th Anniversary Edition is not a marketing exercise — it’s a statement. A gold commemorative plate marks the occasion, but the true focus lies within: a Quad DAC architecture based on four AKM4499EX chips, supported by Aurender’s in-house analogue output stage and discrete R2R volume control.
The model also delivers on flexibility: native support for Google Cast, AirPlay, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz, Spotify Connect, and full Roon Ready certification. On the hardware side, it offers virtually everything — HDMI eARC, I2S, AES/EBU, USB Audio, SPDIF, and Bluetooth lossless. Headphone listeners aren’t left behind either, with 3.5 mm, 6.3 mm, and 4.4 mm balanced outputs.

N50: architecture in the service of silence
The N50, on the other hand, is pure forward-looking engineering — Aurender’s new flagship streamer and a technical rethink of digital silence. Built around a triple-chassis design, it physically separates the server, power supply, and audio modules to minimise internal noise and interference.
Key features include isolated LAN ports, an OCXO clock managed by FPGA, external clock input, dual AES/EBU outputs, and a newly optimised USB interface. Power comes from two stainless steel-encased toroidal transformers with multilayer AC/DC filtering.
It’s fully integrated with TIDAL, Qobuz, Spotify, and is of course Roon Ready.
