The BlueSound PowerNode now faces a very serious competitor, the new compact streaming amplifier from Marantz, the MODEL M1. This new model represents a new generation of amplifiers, promising high-quality sound from various music streaming services, as well as support for analog, digital, and television sources.
The MODEL M1 delivers 2×100 W of power. It supports subwoofer for 2.1 channels and includes crossover frequency configuration and output level adjustment.
The amplifier supports PCM formats up to 24-bit/192 kHz and DSD, with end-to-end digital processing.
The MODEL M1 is compatible with the HEOS app, (a review of Denon’s top-of-the-line streamer and Marantz’s Stereo70s receiver, both also HEOS compatible, will be available in the coming days) Bluetooth, Spotify Connect, and AirPlay2, enabling music streaming from mobile devices. It also features an HDMI eARC input for integration with televisions and supports Dolby Digital+.
Additionally, the MODEL M1 can be used in HEOS multi-room systems, scalable up to 32 individual zones, and is compatible with third-party control systems such as Crestron, Control4, and URC. Its compact and thermally efficient design allows for installation in standard racks or wall mounts.
The Marantz MODEL M1 is available starting today for €1,000.
