Marantz, a leading brand in the audio world for over 70 years, has just launched its new line of high-fidelity stereo components, the 10 Series. This line includes three reference products: the MODEL 10 integrated amplifier, the SACD 10 player, and the LINK 10n network audio player. This launch marks Marantz’s first new range of reference products since 2016, reaffirming its commitment to audio excellence.
MODEL 10 Integrated Amplifier: Power and Precision Redefined
The first product to hit the market is the MODEL 10, an integrated amplifier that stands out as the most powerful ever produced by Marantz. With 250W per channel into 8 ohms and 500W into 4 ohms, the MODEL 10 is designed with a new dual-mono symmetrical amplification topology. This innovative design, developed in partnership with Purifi, ensures extremely low distortion of just 0.05% across the entire audio range, even at full power, delivering an unparalleled listening experience.
The MODEL 10 amplifier features a triple-layer copper-plated chassis with compartmentalized sections to isolate high and low power circuits, minimizing interference and maximizing sound purity. The architecture is fully balanced from input to output, with independent power supplies for each channel, ensuring impeccable stereo separation and consistent frequency response, regardless of speaker impedance.
Premium Design and Advanced Features
In addition to its sound performance, the MODEL 10 stands out for its elegant design and attention to detail. The OLED “porthole” display, inspired by classic Marantz designs, allows users to switch between displaying volume, selected input, or a VU Meter mode. The volume and input selection controls are made from machined aluminum, with individual bearings for smooth and precise operation. The remote control is also meticulously designed, featuring an anodized blue aluminum surface that offers a robust and premium feel.
Internally, the MODEL 10 impresses with its iconic Marantz rhythmic pattern on the protective grille, which is internally illuminated, creating a unique visual presence. The solid aluminum side panels, 16 mm thick, ensure a low-resonance structure, complemented by a fine finish on the front panel, adorned with adjustable LED lighting.
Versatile Connectivity
The MODEL 10 is highly versatile in terms of connectivity, offering a wide range of analog inputs, including two balanced XLR inputs, three RCA inputs, and a high-quality phono stage compatible with MM and MC cartridges, with three impedance options. Pre-amplified outputs are available in both XLR and RCA formats. The amplifier can also be configured to operate as a power amplifier by bypassing the internal preamp when paired with the LINK 10n, another component of the 10 Series. It also includes A/B speaker outputs and a high-quality headphone output.
SACD 10 and LINK 10n: Expanding the 10 Series
Following the launch of the MODEL 10, Marantz will release the SACD 10, a SACD player designed to the same high standards, and the LINK 10n, a reference network audio player. The LINK 10n features the HEOS digital audio engine, allowing high-resolution streaming up to 192 kHz/24 bit and local playback up to 384 kHz/32 bit and DSD 4X, with no conversion or downsampling. This model is compatible with a wide range of streaming services such as Tidal, Spotify, Deezer, and Airplay 2, and can be integrated with up to 32 HEOS devices, creating a synchronized multi-room audio system.
Pricing and Availability
The MODEL 10 will soon be available at select retailers, with a recommended price of $15,000, €14,500, or £12,000. The SACD 10 and LINK 10n are scheduled to be released in the coming months, further expanding Marantz’s high-fidelity offerings.
